i left my phone for a data recovery following water damage. the person who helped me said it would be a flat rate of $150 and about a week for the process. i asked if there would be any extra fees once the data was recovered, and he assured me there wouldn’t be. two days later, i got a call saying the phone was ready for data recovery, which could take four weeks and that i would owe an extra $450-750. when i called to ask why i was misquoted, i was told the manager would call me later that day or the next day. that was over a week ago. i have called and they don’t pick up. i have left voicemails that they never respond to. i could not have picked a more predatory business: they will intentionally deceive you about pricing, hold your phone hostage, and refuse to speak to you and own up to their mistakes. do not make the same mistake i made and trust them. i’m out a “non-refundable” $150 for a data recovery that never even started.

A few months later in December, the phone would shut down before reaching the home screen and the edge of the screen started separating from the case, so I decided to bring it back for further inspection to see if they could fix it.
I dropped off the phone on Monday, 12/2, at 1 PM, and they told me it would take a few hours, promising to call me with an update. I never heard back. On Tuesday, 12/3, I called around 4:30 PM and was told it would take a few hours, and they would call me back later that day. Once again, no one followed up. The next day, Wednesday, 12/4, I called around 12:30 PM, and they gave me the same response—that the tech would look at it and I’d hear back in a few hours. No call ever came.
On Friday, 12/6, at 4 PM, I called again. I explained that they had been giving me the same vague answers all week and still hadn’t given me any update or estimate of when I could expect my phone to be ready. I asked about the issue, and they assured me they would call back later that night or the next morning. Yet again, they never called.
On Saturday, I went to the shop in person to check on the phone. The person there said the tech who was supposedly working on my device wouldn’t be in until the next day and that my phone was still under diagnostics. I asked to see the phone, and to no ones surprise, it hadn’t been touched since I dropped it off. The label they had put on the screen was still on there (you'd at least take this off if you tried turning on the phone to diagnose the issue), and the device hadn’t been taken apart since the screen and case were still in the same state as when I left it with them. I ended up just taking my device back after leaving it them for 5 days with no updates.
The lack of communication and transparency was incredibly disappointing. They repeatedly failed to follow through on their promises, and my phone sat untouched for nearly a week. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this shop to anyone.
I could understand if they were busy and hadn't gotten to it yet, but it's unacceptable being jerked around for a week. Their name, One Hour Device Repair, is quite deceptive considering they did nothing for 120 hours.
Even picking up a device was an issue because the store can close like 30 minutes before the official working hours.
This place is just a waste of time, unfortunately!

Here’s my nightmare experience:
* Broken promises: I took my phone in after the back glass broke, and they promised it would be done in a few hours. Guess what? First, they said afternoon… then evening… and finally, “come back tomorrow” after I had drove 40 minutes back and forth each time (losing work hours and wasting gas) because their receptionist guaranteed it would be ready. Spoiler: It wasn’t—and they never even called to tell me to not come in the third time…
* Destroyed my screen: When I finally got my phone back, it had a huge black spot on the front screen and the display was completely ruined. The phone had zero issues with the front screen when I brought it in.
* Unbelievable blame game: When I asked about the new problem, the employee on-site actually said, “It’s not my fault, I didn’t do the repair.” Then, without telling me, he called the manager—who was the one who had "tried" to fix my phone in the first place! The manager was OFF for the weekend, but that didn’t stop him from screaming at me on the phone, telling me that this was all my fault for dropping my phone in the first place and coming in for repair. Oh, and he had the nerve to say “I wouldn’t have damaged the front had you not brought in the phone to repair to begin with.. it’s because you dropped your phone that this happened so don’t put the blame on me.” 😡
* Non-OEM parts without my consent: They tried to replace the front screen with a non-OEM part (which I declined because I need OEM parts for trade-in value) which was their way of “making it right”. Turns out, they had already replaced the back glass with a non-OEM part WITHOUT telling me! They literally didn’t care about informing me about key decisions for my phone.
💸 THE FINAL BLOW: While it has been a few months since this incident, I wanted to warn others that I found out I can’t even trade in my phone at Apple or my phone carrier all because they ruined my phone’s screen and replaced the back with cheap parts. I otherwise would have been offered $450 for my iPhone 13 Pro MAX at Apple or up to $1000 at my phone carrier for a trade-in.
📢 WARNING: Do yourself a favor—DON’T BE FOOLED by their low prices. Trying to save $10-$20 on a repair has cost me hundreds, if not more. I should’ve believed the other reviews before going in *especially after looking at what was posted just a few months ago which was when I had gone in*… but I learned the hard way.
👉 Don’t make the same mistake. Save your money and go somewhere else!
I was very happy about it, since I arrived 12pm and you mentioned it would take a 2 hours, I Returned 4pm to check on the status and you guys haven't even touched. My biggest concern was no only the timing and you guys no delivering on the estimated time, but mostly for the attitude of a young guy that was in the front when I returned.
I could have take my business elsewhere since the begging if you guys haven't set an expectation of 2 hours. Based on your attitude can't even blame the young guy.

Do not waste your time! It’s not a one hour thing. Takes more than a day. The problem is the expectation, they said 2h to be done and after 4hrs they said the following day.
I arrive at 12pm and they could only deliver on the following day. I understand things happens but the biggest issue is expectations
They will put in aftermarket parts that are either not 100% compatible, or used or defective, while charging the a higher price (extra $10) as in the Apple Store. And it will cause lots of other problems on your phone!!!
After walking out my screen started acting up. Apparently they messed that part up and replaced the screen without asking me. Now it’s not working properly. Lines across it, the typing sensitivity is off, the pages jump up and down on their own,it goes dark during phone calls,
And looks like it’s burning out.
Do not go there if you have an IPhone.

Why they stood out was 6 months later (maybe even longer) the screen was having some lil streaks and stuff. Very random. They just told me to drop it off. I wasn’t sure what the plan was or if I had to pay hah. Went by next day to see watsup (they had wanted to talk to manager) and they give it back with a beautiful new screen “under warranty” hah. Called in after 3 hours, they said the original phone battery was too low so it'll take another 2 hours.
Physically show up 3 hours later to make sure our phone is being worked on. Come to find out, they put SOMEONE ELSE phone data on our new phone because the first guy in the morning MIXED up our phones. The new guy that was there,Tim, was very helpful and apologetic. And worked to correct the issue as soon as he could.
Should've gave the guy in the morning 0 stars and Tim 5 stars for fixing the other guys mistakes.

The girl named Alex fixed it within 25 mins, the power button was not working and she told me that it was loose screw inside.

Even more worse is the customer service. When I asked about it, they said, it's expected. They didn't even tell me when they took the phone that this is how it's going to look like. And the store employee carelessly said "What do you want me to do about it?". I asked him to suggest what to do and he said "I don't know". I asked for a refund and he said that he is not authorized to do that, which is reasonable and he told me to call the store the next day and talk to his manager. I asked him, when should I give a call to talk to his manager and he said "I don't know when he'll be available". What is the expectation here? I keep calling them every few hours till the manager is available? When I asked the same question he said "I don't know".
He was so reckless in his response.
And to support him there was another lady (customer) behind me supporting that guy and telling me that damage was already done and he can't do anything and why am I complaining. I don't even know why she interfered and kept on talking. They billed me around roughly $100 for this. It's not just about money, my phone is looking pathetic now and I expect the employees to treat customers with respect and provide good customer service. Worst experience ever!!!!!
My pixel6 got into water and after that it was not able to switch on. I was able to see the charging on display when I put the charging cable. But as soon as I switch on, it auto switched off.
I went to the shop. She said that water problem cant be fixed still she said she can look into it and said come back after 30 mins. Once we came back, the mobile was working.

I went to OHDR and explained ("it's going to die right after I take it off life support") and they ordered a new battery shipped within 3-5 business days.
They signed me up for free updates over text message and email, so I knew when they ordered, when it arrived, when I could come in, etc
I handed off my G8 to the lady at the counter, it was ready within an hour, it's worked perfectly ever since. This review is about a week after.
The very pleasant woman behind the counter listened to my tale of woe - "let me see what I can do". They weren't lacking for business while I was there, but no "come back in an hour", or "…tomorrow".
She worked at it for most of an hour, occasionally interrupted for other business, obviously tried every avenue she knew to access the phone, but couldn't crack it.
"Sorry…", and didn't charge anything for her time (which I felt guilty about later after I left).
With any luck I won't need their services in the future, but if something goes wrong I know where I'll take my phone!

Today I had cracked my brand-new iPhone 11 screen I *just* had repaired for digitizer issues from Apple for $200. I was rightfully devastated and considered shelling out the $200 and heading back to Apple again. Luckily, this place was open on the 4th of July and although the clerk who was there today was clearly busy, he assured me he could have it done for much cheaper than Apple.
Aside from a very small delay (20 minutes) that occurred from a previous customer’s repair, it was extremely professional, prompt, and most importantly, functional.
